Autosampler for toc

Anton paar's autosampler for the psa series is the only sampler on the market that can be used for both wet and dry dispersions, and is able to automate the sample measurement process. Auto-sampler equips hamilton fluid dispenser for sample loading and cleaning. The autosampler repetitively removes samples of user-determined size at repetitive time intervals. A drop in injection precision may be linked to a partially blocked needle, air bubbles in the tubing between the syringe and needle, a worn or poorly mounted syringe, leaks, or mechanical wear of autosampler parts.

Autosamplers replace manual sampling and injection by automatically selecting a sample and inserting it into the inlets of the instrument. While many methods are not significantly impacted by the autosampler, some workflows or applications benefit from either of the two different types of injectors: the flow-through-needle or the fixed loop design. Another common design for autosamplers for liquids is of a sampling apparatus that moves freely in the 3d space, similarly to cnc routers and 3d printers , for instance.

The heart of today's autosampler is the injection valve. The autosampler is fully integrated into the bluice control system of the beamline. For maximum precision, some designs of push-to-fill autosamplers use syringes autosampler  different volume for small or large injection volumes; other designs use a single syringe size for all injection volumes.

The bl4-2 autosampler is a fully automatic sample delivery device for solution scattering experiments. The included control software, the h-sampler allows the monitoring of the entire process, including fully automated remote control of the h-cube® or the h-cube® pro. Built on a robust platform, seal samplers deliver a consistent intersample air bubble and are ideal for high reproducibility and low level analysis.

The push-to-fill autosampler acts like an automated version of manual injection. For this reason, autosamplers typically operate in the partial-fill mode. The sampling apparatus in most of such autosamplers consist of a needle connected to a remote pumping syringe via tubing. Most autosamplers operate routinely with relative standard deviations of <0.5% with injections of 5-10 µl or more.

This discussion will be followed by a live q&a session and provide the attendee with a better understanding of the physical characteristics of autosamplers and best practices to ensure precise, accurate quantitation. Together with the data reduction and analysis tools ( sastool and saxspipe ) available at the beamline, the bl4-2 autosampler is part of a fully integrated solution scattering pipeline.
